Rudbeckia fulgida (orange coneflower)

More golden in color than other black-eyed Susans, this familiar and beloved perennial is bright, long-blooming and easy to grow. Attractive to butterflies but not much eaten by deer. If you are going to try just one native plant in a sunny spot, this would be a good one to choose. Thrives in full to partial sun, and average soil conditions. Grows to 3' tall and blooms July - August.
