Pink buds open to white flowers on this attractive, fast-growing 8' shrub which is in the rose family. Its peeling bark in different shades of brown provides winter interest and gives the shrub its common name. Arching branches provide good cover for birds, and berries are eaten by birds and other wildlife. Ninebark grows in average soil and full to part sun. There are many commercial cultivars with different colors of foliage. We sell the wild type with green foliage.
Our bare-root trees and shrubs are in their third or fourth year and are generally between 20" and 30" tall.
