This April bloomer provides nectar early in the season for many insects. Thrives under a deciduous tree where it can get sunlight early in the season, but shade later. Less than 12" tall, with lovely clusters of blue flowers, and glossy leaves that look good all season. Plant with Wild Geranium for a pretty combination of blue and pink in a bright shade garden. Woodland Phlox will thrive and gradually spread in dry to average soil conditions. It's said that deer are not specially interested in it, but rabbits are.
