Our lovely native honeysuckle forms a vigorous vine, but will not spread and take over like some of its non-native cousins. Its showy red flowers bloom May through July. The sweet nectar in the flowers attracts hummingbirds, and children like it too. The vine can grow to 20 feet and the foliage is semi-evergreen. Use it to cover a wall, a fence or a slope. Coral honeysuckle prefers full sun, and soil with average moisture and high organic content.
