We love this plant. It bursts into spectacular purple bloom late in the season, and though not commonly found in the wild, it is native to our ecoregion. Northern blazing star does best in dry soils - too much moisture may cause it to flop. It grows to 4' in sun or partial shade, and has a long bloom season of August through October. Attracts many pollinating insects.
