Iris versicolor (blue flag iris)

A native wetland iris, this blue flag is found in the wild beside ponds and in swamps and marshy meadows. It can also handle some dry spells, so it will do well in your rain garden. Blue-violet flowers are held in May on 18" stalks above the evergreen leaves. To bloom well it needs full sun or partial sun.
