Sedges are grass-like plants that are widespread in our local ecosystems. Fox sedge is an attractive, clumping sedge that is adaptable to a range of light and soil conditions. It grows during the cool seasons - spring and fall - reaching a height of 3'. Brown flowers bloom in June/July. In your landscape, Fox sedge can be used to absorb excess water in a rain garden, to add texture to a shade garden, or to mix into a meadow on the woodland's edge.
