Tall thimbleweed grows 2-3 feet tall and has long-lasting cream-colored flowers whose petals are actually colored sepals. It's thimble-like seed heads become fluffy when they disperse their seed. Tall thimbleweed prefers open woods and clearings and medium to dry soil.
